Yevgeny Ivanovich Charushin (1901 – 1965) was one of the masters of children’s book illustration in Russia in the 1920s and 1930s.He worked on the children’s journals Murzilka, Yozh and Chizh, illustrated works by Maxim Gorky and Samuil Marshak, and was a graphic artist in the Leningrad Children’s Department of the State Publishing House from 1927. His illustrations reflect a great fondness for animals, delicately and accurately reproducing habits, attitudes, textures and environments.
Magma teamed up with Redstone Press to produce three new prints - The Sunset, The Snowman & Bear Cub - and one re-print - The Woods - for winter 2011.
