DREPH's Manchester Paintdown

Dreph's subject matter is predominantly inspired by how everyday people act and interact, especially in urban environments.
" I find that many of the things that people take for granted inspire my paintings". Passers by often inform his work, "for me it important that my paintings talk to the people who live in the area".

Dreph works in traditional media such as painting and print making, as well
as digital manipulation using computers and aerosol paint to produce his larger than life paintings in public spaces.

In his formative years Dreph and the BNB art group, equipped with spray paint, and fuelled with the passion to explore the frontiers of subway art in London, soon become one of the most prolific groups in the capital.

In 1997 Dreph went on to complete a degree in Art, Design and Media at Portsmouth University."I grew up on British comic books like '2000 AD' and 'Tank Girl'" Dreph proclaims. These early influences led him to develop his own figurative style that has evolved from the letter forms synonymous with New York subway art.

Dreph has combined his formal art education with what he had learnt on the streets to create work that is unmistakably his.
